Department of Health gets it wrong!

October 29th, 2016

The Department of Health provided 6 options that they suggest as examples of how retailers can achieve structural separation in their stores AND make the alcohol products not visible to the general public. We reproduce a photograph from this presentation and draw your attention to the “cigarettes” sign (circled) in the link below.

If any store in the Republic tried to copy such a layout they would run the risk of a prosecution, a fine and a ban for up to 3months from selling tobacco products. We bring this to your attention to show evidence of the total disregard that the Department holds for retailers AND their lack of concern for accuracy.
