Employee Holidays Abroad During Covid

July 15th, 2020

Have you staff that are planning to travel abroad soon? Are you unsure of what to do with current quarantine restrictions in place for people travelling? We are here to help!

As per current Government advice anyone travelling abroad must quarantine for 2 weeks on their return to Ireland. This will mean that instead of a staff member requiring 2 weeks annual leave for their holiday they will be out of work for 4 weeks as they will have to quarantine for 2 weeks on their return. If a staff member has sufficient annual leave to allow for the 2 weeks quarantine the employer may grant 4 weeks continuous leave. We have created a generic letter for employees to sign noting their acceptance of updated annual leave policies in light of current restrictions.

If you have any queries in regard to the above please call the CSNA office on 045-535050.
