We were very impressed with the contribution of CSNA member Colm Kavanagh on the Liveline programme this week.
Colm recounted his tale of keeping his store open throughout the inclement weather including the totally unnecessary cleaning of Lidls’ snow.
At the suggestion of Colm, Liveline presenter Joe Duffy agreed to have a “Fiver Friday” on the day before our National Holiday, March 16th.
The primary stated aim is to bring business away from online, multiples and discounters and get people to Shop Local.
We are acutely aware that the main beneficiaries of this exercise should be hard-pressed local retailers and not just the public availing of ridiculously discounted bargains but we also see it as an opportunity for you to get on the bandwagon and consider how best you could avail of the free publicity surrounding the event.
