Many of you will have read an article in last Friday’s Irish Times covering this story. I would be completely inappropriate for me to pass judgement on the level of such an award which was handed down by a High Court judge against a major supermarket.
The nature of the injuries described by the judge was summarised when he stated she had suffered permanent back and bladder injuries rendering her “grossly disabled in all aspects of her life”.
What can we do to avoid such incidents in our premises? Believe me when I say that there are preventative actions that can and should be taken, (regular floor checks, “Slip” signs, “Wipe your Feet” signs….), but above all else folks – make sure that every staff member is properly trained to be diligent!
Always remember – call us to discuss any/every incident. We will advise and guide you.Back to news
