National Transport Authority CEO Apologises For Insulting LEAP Card Retailers

The vast majority of suppliers consider the presence of an enthusiastic ,well-informed and professional sector willing to provide outlets for their products as a phenomenal bonus, and bend over backwards to ensure and maintain a good relationship with the stores.

The Association were therefore very concerned to note comments by the CEO of the NTA on the occasion of the launch of their Apple Pay-enabled facility where Ms Anne Graham said that LEAP customers would be spared the “hassle” of having to “detour” to a shop to get a Top-up. Ms Graham was accompanied by the Minister for Transport Eamonn Ryan TD who had similar comments attributed to him in the NTA Press Release issued on the day. You can read the full article here.

Following a letter to the CEO from CSNA, in which we set out very clearly our dismay at her attitude to a sector that is responsible for the sale of more than 50% of all of LEAP products, and has continued to do so throughout the past 15 months of a Pandemic, we received a reply apologising for the error and accepting the importance of the retail sector in the grand scheme.
