The publisher of the Times, The Irish Sun, edition and The Sunday Times, News Ireland Ltd have advised CSNA their intention to amend the printed cover price on the above titles from Monday 4th July. Members will recall that these titles did not alter their barcodes when there was a ‘local’ price change; we are happy to advise all members that as a result of approaches made by CSNA to News Ireland, each change of cover price will result in an amended barcode, avoiding expensive pricing errors. Furthermore, New Ireland has committed to continuing to advise their wholesalers (EM News) to discount the titles at the agreed levels. Every copy of the Sunday Times sold at the cover price of €4.00 will earn retailers almost 92 cents (plus the additional handling charges for insertion). The Times Ireland will also increase the cover prices on both the Monday to Friday and Saturday editions, while The Irish Sun will increase the cover price printed on each of its 7 editions, Monday – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
